Locomotive on short passenger working |

Morden Road |
The train is a special from the Eastern Region Gresley coaches and a D84xx diesel. Introduced to service in 1958/9 these diesels were useless and were withdrawn within 10 years. This would date the picture in the late 1950's or early 1960's. I havent the faintest idea what the working is but would suggest either ECS en route from the specials destination to Norwood Junction for servicing or with passengers en route to a Sussex coast destination via Mitcham Junction Hackbridge Sutton and the Mid Sussex line. |
